The Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health (PFRH) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is recruiting a full-time tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a focus on maternal health. PFRH is an interdisciplinary department focused on enhancing the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities across the life course. Its faculty conduct research in domestic and international contexts, spanning foundational and applied research, translation, and implementation with partners at multiple levels. The department emphasizes mentorship, collaboration, collegiality, and a supportive environment for trainees, faculty, and staff. The department is particularly interested in candidates with quantitative expertise, skills, and experience in one or more maternal health areas, including maternal health morbidities and mortality; interventions to reduce disparities and promote health equity; digital health, AI, or other technologies; social, behavioral, and health systems factors; and implementation and evaluation of maternal health programs and policies. The successful applicant will apply a life course perspective to innovative maternal health research, with a focus on the United States; a portion of the research portfolio may include global work. The faculty member will develop an externally funded research program and participate in PFRH's educational program, with departmental resources and faculty mentorship, and contribute to the Department, School, and University. Tenure-track faculty are required to be on campus regularly throughout the year to participate in departmental and school activities and remain accessible to trainees and colleagues.
