Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Tenured Track, Assistant Professor - Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at its Detroit campus location. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University School of Medicine and the C.S. Mott Center for Human Growth and Development invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in reproductive immunology. The successful candidate will establish and lead an independent, externally funded research program focused on immune regulation at the maternal–fetal interface and its impact on pregnancy outcomes, fetal development, and long-term offspring health. Areas of particular interest include placental immunology, maternal infection and environmental exposures during pregnancy, fetal and neonatal immune development, sex-specific immune programming, and the developmental origins of inflammatory and infectious diseases. The candidate is expected to use innovative experimental approaches that may include animal models of pregnancy, placental and decidual immunology, cellular and molecular biology, flow cytometry, single-cell and bulk transcriptomics, imaging, and translational analysis of human biospecimens. Research that integrates mechanistic studies with clinically relevant questions in maternal and child health is particularly encouraged. The successful candidate will contribute to the collaborative research environment of the C.S. Mott Center, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Wayne State University School of Medicine. Opportunities are available for collaboration with investigators in reproductive biology, immunology, infectious disease, environmental health, pediatrics, and maternal–fetal medicine.
