About The Position

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Minnesota (UMN) seeks to fill one tenure-track assistant professor faculty position beginning July 1, 2027, or later. Applications will be accepted from candidates whose research interests lie in any area of modern chemistry. Appointees will be expected to carry out vigorous programs of original research, to advise research students, to teach a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Chemistry, and to participate in Departmental and University governance. Selection will be based on each candidate’s record of previous accomplishments relevant to these responsibilities, their potential for outstanding future contributions, and their potential to actively advance the University’s goal of creating a positive campus climate that is both inclusive and diverse. The Department of Chemistry at the University of Minnesota (UMN) provides a world-class education through classroom teaching and cutting-edge research. As a central, core discipline in science and engineering, chemistry is critical for solving society's most important problems and making significant positive impacts on human health, energy, and the environment. Our department has been a national and international leader throughout its history. The department has 38 faculty members, 30 staff members, 25 post-doctoral associates and 230 graduate students. Due to the breadth of our education and research missions, this position offers the opportunity to develop skills across a broad range of operating systems, software packages, network infrastructures, and hardware configurations. Requirements

Completed all requirements for the Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree by the date of appointment.
