About The Position

The Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus) invites applications for two (2) full-time tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level. The anticipated start date for the positions is July 1, 2027, or a mutually agreed upon date. We are inviting applications from candidates with expertise in operations and supply chain management. Both positions are subject to budgetary approval. The Faculty consists of management faculty who are diverse in their expertise and undertake research with a wide range of themes.

Requirements

  • Near completion or completion of a PhD in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Operations Research, Management Science, or Industrial Engineering
  • A strong research record with publications or clear potential for publication in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals in operations and supply chain management
  • Must show research potential to establish a successful research program in operations or supply chain management that can attract external research funding, including Tri-Agency and other significant government and industry-partnered funding
  • Must demonstrate expertise in research methodologies relevant to the operations or supply chain management disciplines
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence in operations and supply chain management
  • Demonstrated communication skills, and ability to convey ideas clearly
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and a track record of contributing positively to a work environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional, undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral education
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to actively participate in collegial internal and external service, events and initiatives
  • A commitment to the principles of Equity Diversity, and Inclusion

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining an active, high-impact research program aimed at making a significant contribution to the profession with publications in leading operations and supply chain management journals
  • Teaching in our undergraduate and graduate programs
  • Supervising Ph.D. students in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies program
  • Contributing to other teaching and administrative initiatives of the Faculty of Management
  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses
