About The Position

The Department of Marketing and Management in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Management with a specialization in Sports Management. The Cofrin School of Business prioritizes teaching excellence, learner success, quality scholarship, engagement with the regional business community, and dedication to collaboration, institutional service, community engagement, and professional service. Professional experience in business or sports-related industries is viewed favorably. This position contributes to undergraduate and graduate programs in Management while supporting the continued development of sports and event management curriculum. Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in Management, Sport Management, Sport Administration, or a closely related discipline from an AACSB accredited institution by the end of the first academic year. Candidates who have not completed their doctorate by the start date will be hired into a terminal appointment at the rank of Instructor with a rate determined at the time of hire. Upon degree conferral, the title will change to Assistant Professor. The contract will not be renewed if the degree is not conferred by the end of the terminal appointment.
  • Demonstrated record of scholarly activity appropriate to career stage, including peer-reviewed publications.
  • Evidence of effective teaching.
  • Evidence of engagement in institutional, community, or professional service.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active program of scholarship consistent with rank, including peer-reviewed publications and collaborative research with faculty and students.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with regional professional, collegiate, semi-professional, community sports, entertainment, and event organizations.
  • Participate fully in AACSB accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Contribute to curriculum innovation and program development within the Cofrin School of Business.
  • Mentor students in the “transcripts to resumes” program.
  • Engage in institutional, community, and professional service.
  • Teach a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in sports management, event management, and general management.
