About The Position

The Hamline School of Business in Saint Paul, Minnesota, seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor or teaching track Professor of Practice or Instructor position in marketing and management. Faculty members play a pivotal role in developing new courses and management education certificates as well as ensuring a high level of learning through assessment activities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable competencies in teaching.
  • Commitment to the development of skills necessary for advising and mentoring students from culturally diverse backgrounds, and to the promotion and enhancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion in support of academic excellence. These practices include, but are not limited to instructional activities, curriculum content, and contextual framework.
  • Tenure-track Assistant Professor Position: Candidates with a completed Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Marketing, Management or Business Administration. ABD candidates will be considered with anticipated completion within the first year of appointment.
  • Teaching Instructor/Professor of Practice Position: Candidates with a Master of Business Administration, Master of Management, Master of Marketing or other related Masters degree coupled with substantial experience or a high level of professional achievement in business.

  • Experience teaching online is preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching and curriculum development responsibilities for the tenure-track position includes six courses per year (24 credits across the graduate and undergraduate levels).
  • Teaching faculty position includes seven courses per year (28 credits across the graduate and undergraduate levels).
  • Potential course content areas include: Marketing Research, Digital Marketing intelligence, Marketing Automation and AI, Foundations of Marketing, Foundations of Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, First-year Seminar.
  • Course content matching the expertise of the applicant.
  • Candidates who have prior teaching experience (at least one semester) in some of these course content areas.
