About The Position

The Hamline School of Business in Saint Paul, Minnesota, seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor or teaching track Professor of Practice or Instructor position in marketing and management. Our vision is to be the place “Where the business, government, and non-profit sectors intersect to educate and collaborate for the common good.” Our faculty, staff, and students cultivate an ethic of civic responsibility, social justice, and inclusive leadership and service. At the undergraduate level, the school offers a Bachelor in Business Administration with concentrations in accounting, business analytics, finance, management, and marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. At the graduate level, the school offers the following graduate degrees: Master of Business Administration, Master of Management and Leadership, Master of Science in Business Analytics, Master of Management and Leadership, Master of Public Administration, and Ph.D. in Management and Public Service as well as sequential degrees, dual degrees, and a joint MBA/JD degree with the Mitchell Hamline Law School. The School of Business designs its undergraduate and graduate program offerings to meet the needs of students who require the skills and knowledge to succeed in the rapidly changing realities of our local and global communities. The school is dedicated to preparing students to work across sectors to solve the complex issues facing today’s society. Faculty members play a pivotal role in developing new courses and management education certificates as well as ensuring a high level of learning through assessment activities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable competencies in teaching
  • Commitment to the development of skills necessary for advising and mentoring students from culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Commitment to the promotion and enhancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion in support of academic excellence
  • Prior teaching experience (at least one semester) in some of these course content areas: Marketing Research, Digital Marketing intelligence, Marketing Automation and AI, Foundations of Marketing, Foundations of Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, First-year Seminar
  • Candidates with a completed Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Marketing, Management or Business Administration (for Tenure-track Assistant Professor Position)
  • ABD candidates will be considered with anticipated completion within the first year of appointment (for Tenure-track Assistant Professor Position)
  • Candidates with a Master of Business Administration, Master of Management, Master of Marketing or other related Masters degree coupled with substantial experience or a high level of professional achievement in business (for Teaching Instructor/Professor of Practice Position)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity and interest in AI technologies
  • Experience teaching online is preferred
  • Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Teaching and curriculum development responsibilities for the tenure-track position includes six courses per year (24 credits across the graduate and undergraduate levels)
  • Teaching faculty position includes seven courses per year (28 credits across the graduate and undergraduate levels)
  • Developing new courses and management education certificates
  • Ensuring a high level of learning through assessment activities
