We seek candidates with a Ph.D. degree in physics (or equivalent), strong research credentials, and excellent pedagogical skills including good command of spoken and written English. A strong commitment to undergraduate education is required. Teaching will include introductory service courses in physics and/or astronomy (some of which are taught in a studio format), labs, and upper division physics and/or astrophysics courses. Some prior teaching experience is preferred. We seek a candidate who can strengthen our new astrophysics concentration, though candidates from any research subfield are encouraged to apply. The Department has existing strengths in nuclear physics, fundamental symmetries, and physics education research. Local opportunities include the continuing development of both observational astronomy and ion beam facilities. The ability to engage undergraduates at all levels in research is required. Postdoctoral experience is strongly preferred.
