About The Position

Saint Louis University, a Catholic Jesuit institution dedicated to education, research, healthcare and service, is accepting applications for a non-tenure track, 12-month 0.8 FTE assistant professor principal faculty appointment in the Physician Assistant (PA) Program within the Clinical Health Sciences Department. This is a one-year contract position with the possibility of renewal. This principal faculty member will report to the PA Program Director and will actively participate in Phase I (didactic) and Phase II (clinical) coursework and activities, with opportunities for leadership development within the Program. As a full-time university faculty member, they will be involved in PA student instruction and advising/counseling, faculty development, scholarly activity, as well as service to the University, the community and the profession. Ideally, they will practice clinically 4-8 hours per week. As a principal faculty member of the PA Program, they will also participate in admissions activities, student remediation, academic/professional progressions, didactic and clinical curricular activities and assessment, and ongoing program assessment. Depending on interest and credentials, the successful candidate may also teach in the new online Doctor of Medical Science (DMS) program.

Requirements

  • NCCPA certification and eligibility for PA licensure in Missouri or Illinois
  • Alignment with the mission of the University and the Program
  • Master's degree
  • At least three years of clinical experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
