The Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education at East Tennessee State University seeks a 9-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Math Education position beginning August 2027. This role involves teaching in-person, online, and/or hybrid courses on the main campus in Johnson City and at the ETSU-Sevierville campus within teacher educator programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate mathematics methods courses in the elementary education program, which has experienced significant enrollment growth. At the graduate level, the applicant may teach in Master of Arts in Teaching and/or Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction programs. In addition to teaching, candidates are expected to engage in research and scholarly activities and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession. The typical annual workload is allocated as 60% teaching, 20% research, and 20% service. The role may also include supervising teacher candidates in the field.
