About The Position

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a physiatrist for a full-time faculty position with training and interest in Inpatient Rehabilitation at a free-standing, community-based rehabilitation hospital. Applicants are hired at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Professor (tenure or non-tenure track) based on experience. All faculty are required to take an active role in our integrated residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, contributing to the academic and professional development of the medical community.

Requirements

• MD or DO.
• Board Certified/ Board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
• Experience with medical management of rehabilitation needs for patients during inpatient rehabilitation including medically complex, neurologic or orthopedic diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Special interest in medical management of rehabilitation needs for patients during inpatient rehabilitation including medically complex, neurologic and orthopedic diagnoses
• Collaborate with referring services and other departments as appropriate to ensure transitions across the continuum of care.
• Establish a community-based consultation service at other locations as appropriate.
• Provide care in ambulatory clinics for general and/or neurologic physiatry patients.
• Lecture to PM&R residents and students.
• Attend Grand Rounds as scheduled.
