The University of St. Thomas's Theology Department in the College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Theological Ethics to begin in the fall semester of 2027. This role requires a specialization in faith and health topics and competency in teaching Catholic social thought. The successful candidate will teach the introductory undergraduate theology course, "Foundations," which can be tailored to faith and health themes. They will also instruct upper-level undergraduate courses such as "Catholic Social Thought," "Moral Theology," "Faith and Healthcare Professions," and "Bioethics," catering to students interested in health professions. The university encourages the development of new courses based on the candidate's interests. Preference will be given to scholars who can integrate interreligious and multifaith perspectives on health and healthcare, and whose courses align with the core curriculum requirements in "Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Justice" or "Global Perspectives." The position includes opportunities to teach during the "January-term," potentially abroad in Rome or other locations. The standard teaching load is six 4-credit in-person courses annually, with potential for online and blended formats. The role also requires maintaining an active scholarly agenda, advising students, and fulfilling other service commitments.
