About The Position

The department is seeking a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Theatre. All applicants will be evaluated on academic and professional qualifications, professional or extensive academic experience in Theatre design and production techniques and procedures, the potential for teaching courses listed under “Preferred Qualifications," evidence of teaching effectiveness in student-centered education, evidence of successful mentorship of students, strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and a commitment to interdisciplinarity and the liberal arts and sciences.

Requirements

• MFA or terminal degree in Theatre Design and Technology, or a closely related field, with an open area of specialization.
• Professional and/or professional education experience in at least two of the following areas: Lighting Design/Technology, Sound Design/Technology, Projection Design/Technology, or Scenic Design/Technology.
• Academic and professional qualifications.
• Professional or extensive academic experience in Theatre design and production techniques and procedures.
• Potential for teaching courses listed under “Preferred Qualifications."
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness in student-centered education.
• Evidence of successful mentorship of students.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Commitment to interdisciplinarity and the liberal arts and sciences.
