Assistant Professor of Strategic Management
About The Position
The Management Department at the Fowler College of Business (FCB) at San Diego State University (SDSU) seeks to hire a tenure-track assistant professor with expertise in Strategic Management, starting Fall 2027. The successful candidate must exhibit competence/potential in conducting high-quality scholarship in Strategic Management, resulting in top-tier journal publications and academic thought leadership, and effectively teaching the undergraduate capstone course in Strategic Management. Teaching in the core MBA Strategy course may also be expected as needed. Some evening teaching may also be required. Filling this position is contingent upon state funding. Consideration of applicants will begin in August and will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
Requirements
- A record of original research / scholarly / creative accomplishments and demonstrated capacity to a) develop a vigorous and independent program of research / scholarship / creative activity; b) teach graduate and undergraduate courses; and c) engage in both campus and professional service activities.
- Demonstration of past accomplishments and / or future plans in at least two (2) or more of the “Building on Inclusive Excellence” criteria.
- Ph.D. in Strategic Management or in a closely related field (e.g., economics, sociology, organizational behavior, international business) with all degree requirements met by date of hire.

- Evidence of (or potential for) research in areas that overlap with department faculty interests

Responsibilities
- Conducting high-quality scholarship in Strategic Management, resulting in top-tier journal publications and academic thought leadership.
- Effectively teaching the undergraduate capstone course in Strategic Management.
- Teaching in the core MBA Strategy course may also be expected as needed.
