The Department of Special Education at San José State University is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor of Special Education position beginning in August 2027. This role involves teaching in the Master of Arts (MA) in Special Education and Education Specialist Credential programs, contributing to undergraduate, credential, and MA degree pathways. The Department of Special Education, within the Lurie College of Education, focuses on preparing transformative special educators who can create equitable and inclusive environments. The department offers an MA in Special Education and three Education Specialist credential programs, accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. They have strong collaborations with over 40 school districts and operate three Teacher Residency Programs. Additionally, the department partners with other departments for blended BA to MA programs that include the Education Specialist credential.
