The Butler University School of Music, Jordan College of the Arts, is inviting applications and nominations for Assistant Professor of General Music Education. This is a tenure-track position. Primary responsibilities include teaching elementary general music methods, secondary general music methods, and other undergraduate and/or graduate music education courses in the music education curriculum. In addition, there is an expectation of connection with local and regional music educators, programs, and associations. Academic advising, student mentoring, committee participation, and community service are expected of the successful candidate. The ability to teach courses in a secondary area would be valued. Continuing excellence in teaching, service, and scholarly activity is expected to qualify for reappointment, tenure, and promotion.
