The Department of Physics in the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Richmond invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in the 2027-2028 academic year. We seek a candidate whose research will broaden our department in any of several areas. As a result, applications are encouraged from candidates in all subfields of physics and applied physics, both theoretical and experimental. The successful candidate is expected to have demonstrated a keen interest and ability in undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate will maintain a vigorous research program that engages undergraduates in substantive research outcomes. Courses taught will include workshop-style introductory physics for science majors, upper-division courses for undergraduate physics majors, and possibly general-education courses for non-science majors.
