Assistant Professor of Physics
About The Position
Concordia College’s Physics Department seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Physics beginning in August 2027. The successful candidate will teach across the undergraduate physics curriculum, including introductory and service courses, advanced courses, and laboratories. The role includes developing an active research program involving undergraduate students and contributing to departmental and College service, including participation in departmental co-curricular activities. The successful candidate will join a department with three full-time faculty members who are active in research and committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate education. Concordia College is a private liberal arts college with approximately 2,000 undergraduate students in Moorhead, Minnesota, within the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan community of approximately 250,000 people.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Physics.
- Demonstrated potential for outstanding undergraduate teaching.
- Demonstrated potential for developing an active and independent research program with undergraduate students.
Nice To Haves
- Ph.D. in experimental Physics.
- Ability to teach astronomy and astrophysics.
- Postdoctoral experience.
- Strong record of teaching experience.
Responsibilities
