About The Position

The Assistant Professor of Nursing accepts the responsibility of maintaining high standards of quality nursing education. The faculty member is a member of university faculty at large, with all rights, freedoms, privileges, and responsibilities of every other faculty member. Nursing faculty members are responsible for adhering to the regulation in the UAM Faculty Handbook and the School of Nursing Faculty Handbook. Instructions include didactic and clinical components. Responsibilities include collaboration with peers to develop, implement, and evaluation curriculum; participate in academic advising; maintain security and confidentiality of all records and exams; attending meetings as scheduled; participate in student and peer evaluations; maintain appropriate student records; maintain office hours consistent with university policy; serve as a professional role model for students; participate in scholarly activities; promote goal, objectives, and reputation of the SON, University, and community; and other duties as assigned by the School of Nursing Dean.

Requirements

  • Masters degree required.
  • Current unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in Arkansas or compact agreement state.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
