About The Position

The School of Nursing at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic excellence, scholarly productivity, and service mission of the School of Nursing and the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS). Responsibilities include teaching across undergraduate and/or graduate programs; advising and mentoring students; and developing a robust program of research and scholarship that advances nursing science, healthcare delivery, health systems, education, policy, or related interdisciplinary fields. The faculty member is expected to design and conduct original research, secure external funding, disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex health challenges. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, evidence-informed curricula that prepare graduates for diverse professional roles in an evolving healthcare landscape. Requirements

  • Candidates must hold an earned research doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent in nursing or another health-related field [i.e., aging/gerontology, community health, public health, psychology, sociology or other related field]).
  • For early-career candidates, evidence of an emerging program of research and scholarship through peer-reviewed, high-quality publications, and potential for securing extramurally funded research.
  • For senior candidates, an established program of research as evidenced by extramurally funded research and a sustained record of peer-reviewed, high-quality publications and dissemination activities.
  • Demonstrated competence in teaching.
  • Candidates with a nursing degree must be eligible for a registered nurse license in the state of New Hampshire.

  • For senior faculty, a strong and sustained record of extramurally funded research, peer-reviewed publication, dissemination, and interdisciplinary collaboration, professional leadership at the local, regional, national, and/or international level.
  • Experience as an effective teacher in the classroom or field sites.
  • Experience as a research mentor to undergraduate and graduate student in research and scholarship.
  • Service as a mentor to and/or collaborator with peer and junior faculty.
  • Professional leadership within local, regional, national, and international groups.
