About The Position

The Music Department of California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Music Industry/Audio Production. We are seeking a dynamic educator with a vision to expand our current Music Technology minor into a major in Music Industry and Audio Production while also bringing local and national visibility to the CSUSM Music Department.

Requirements

Terminal degree - OR - Master’s degree from an accredited institution
Documented experience in the Music Industry
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses
Ability to teach and develop music courses based on curricular needs
Ability to teach our student populations and apply an equity lens to this position including social justice and/or anti-racism
Effective communication skills
Ability to collaborate with departmental colleagues

Nice To Haves

Doctoral degree in Music (ABD considered, conferral must be received by hire date)
Extensive industry experience at the regional, national, and international levels
Classroom, recording studio, and, internship experience at the university level
Ability to generate excitement and attract students to the program
Experience in developing a music industry program
Applicants who can demonstrate intercultural competence with a variety of groups in teaching, research, and service are strongly preferred.
