About The Position

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is seeking to hire an Assistant Professor of Marketing for the College of Business, Department of Marketing. This tenure-track position is targeted towards candidates with expertise in Theoretical or Empirical Modeling and its marketing applications. CSULB is a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI) committed to serving diverse students and promoting inclusive excellence. Requirements

  • Ph.D. or DBA in Marketing or a closely related field, with a focus on theoretical or empirical modeling. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited or EQUIS institution by August 1, 2027.
  • Demonstrated potential for teaching marketing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Demonstrated potential for research, scholarly and creative activities in theoretical or empirical modeling and its marketing applications leading to publications
  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including low socioeconomic and first-generation students

Nice To Haves

  • Peer-reviewed articles published or under review in high-quality academic journals in marketing or closely related fields
  • Evidence of effective teaching in marketing or a closely related field at undergraduate and/or graduate level
  • Demonstrated commitment to service contributions to the department, college, university, and community
  • Experience in successfully working with populations that are demographically and/or socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body
  • Experience in mentoring or supporting students using inclusive and culturally relevant teaching strategies in a diverse classroom

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in various areas of marketing (Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof).
  • Engage in research, scholarly and creative activities leading to publications and presentations in marketing and related fields.
  • Participate in curriculum and program development and keep content current in various areas of marketing.
  • Participate in service activities at the department, college, university, and community levels.
