The Agriculture Program invites applications for a fulltime, tenure-track appointment in Horticulture at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is primarily a teaching position and the person appointed to the position will teach in some of the following areas: Integrated pest management, weed biology, tree and fruit crop production and management, principles of horticulture and practices, nursery production, crop physiology, plant breeding and agricultural propagation. Additional duties will include: course development, establishing an active student-focused experiential learning research program. Other responsibilities will include student mentoring and advising a highly diverse student population. Effective teaching, scholarly productivity, and service to the University are required for retention, promotion, and tenure. This is an academic year appointment. Opportunities may exist for additional grant-funded Summer activities and interdisciplinary projects on the 2-acre sustainable garden.
