About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, is seeking an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice to begin Fall 2027. TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8,000 students located in Laredo, Texas. The university focuses on advancing knowledge through research, teaching, community engagement, and public service, with an emphasis on student success and research excellence. This is a full-time tenure-track position within the Program in Criminal Justice, housed in the Department of Social Sciences, College of Arts & Sciences. The role involves teaching undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses, conducting research, mentoring students, and serving on various committees.

Requirements

• PhD in Criminal Justice or a related field
• ABD candidates will be considered if degree is earned before August 16, 2027
• Strong research skills
• Strong records of or potential for sustained publication in peer-reviewed journals
• Potential for or prior experience with seeking and/or securing external grant funding
