About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, is seeking an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice to begin Fall 2027. TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution located in Laredo, Texas, with a mission to advance knowledge through research, teaching, community engagement, and public service, with a focus on student success and research excellence. This is a full-time tenure-track position. Primary duties include teaching undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses, conducting research, mentoring students, and serving on various committees. The position requires regular on-campus attendance and face-to-face interactions.

Requirements

• PhD in Criminal Justice or a related field
• ABD candidates will be considered if degree is earned before August 16, 2027
• Strong research skills
• Strong records of or potential for sustained publication in peer-reviewed journals
• Potential for or prior experience with seeking and/or securing external grant funding
