About The Position

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology for a 9-month, tenure-track position. This role involves teaching courses in both face-to-face and online formats within the School of Criminal Justice and Criminology. In addition to teaching, the position encompasses standard academic responsibilities such as conducting research and scholarship, serving on institutional committees, and providing service to the university. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or ABD in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field
  • A J.D. (law degree) is not appropriate for this position
  • Commitment to teaching and mentoring students
  • Willingness to teach in both online and face-to-face formats
  • Active research agenda in Criminology or Criminal Justice
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Responsibilities

  • Teach online or face-to-face formats at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral level

  • Conduct and disseminate scholarly research
  • Serve the department, the university, and the community
  • Perform other duties as required
