About The Position

The Department of Computing Technology in the School of Computer Science and Mathematics at Marist University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Computing Technology, with a focus on cybersecurity and IT infrastructure, at the Assistant Professor rank to begin in the Fall of 2027.

Requirements

Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
ABD in an appropriate field who will complete their dissertation within one year of hire.
Experience teaching in one or more of the following areas: software development, systems analysis and design, data communications and networking, cybersecurity, database systems and information management, distributed computing, cloud computing, and IT infrastructure.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarly work.

Industry and/or consulting experience.
Ability to work effectively in diverse environments.
Ability to teach broadly in areas such as software development, systems analysis and design, data communications and networking, cybersecurity, database systems and information management, distributed computing, cloud computing, and information technology management.
Experience in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure, including network and systems security, cloud security, secure computing infrastructure, cyber operations, and enterprise computing.
Interdisciplinary or applied research programs in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure.
Ability to contribute to a broad computing curriculum.
Robust track record of publications and/or the potential to develop a strong research agenda.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in both traditional in-person and online environments.
Engage in University and professional activities such as advising/mentoring students.
Serve on department, school, or University committees.
Incorporate relevant AI concepts and tools into teaching.
Learn about and engage with the discipline of quantum computing as departmental needs and opportunities evolve.
