About The Position

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science to begin August 2027. The candidate should have a Ph.D. or master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field. A Ph.D. is preferred, but candidates with a Master’s degree and relevant professional or teaching experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates in all areas of Computer Science are encouraged to apply. We are particularly interested in candidates whose teaching or scholarly interests include cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and machine learning, data science, or other emerging areas of computing. The beautiful campus of Benedictine College is situated in picturesque Atchison, KS on the bluffs above the Missouri River. Atchison is within an hour drive of major cities such as Kansas City, Saint Joseph, Lawrence, and Topeka as well as 40 minutes from the Kansas City International Airport. Responsibilities

• Undergraduate teaching in Computer Science.
• Teach 12 credit hours per semester, generally consisting of three to four courses.
• Teach courses across the Computer Science curriculum according to their background and departmental needs.
• Develop courses in their areas of expertise and help shape the future direction of the Computer Science program.
• Maintain appropriate scholarly or professional activity.
• Involve undergraduate students in research and other scholarly or professional projects.
• Advising students.
• Service to the department, College, and broader community.
