About The Position

Daemen University's Natural Sciences and Mathematics department is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chemistry to begin in Fall 2027. This role involves teaching undergraduate lectures and labs, mentoring student research, and conducting independent research. Requirements

• PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Experience with 'active learning' in a face-to-face modality (preferably at smaller institutions).
• Analytical and organizational skills to plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to interact effectively with all university constituents.
• Willingness and ability to teach in face-to-face and online modalities.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching classes in Environmental Chemistry.
• Teaching classes in Forensic Chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Teaching 21 credits of lectures and labs in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and General Chemistry.
• Mentoring undergraduate research students.
• Conducting independent research leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Teaching in face-to-face and online modalities.
