Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Chemistry
About The Position
Daemen University's Natural Sciences and Mathematics department is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chemistry to begin in Fall 2027. This role involves teaching 21 credits of lectures and labs in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and General Chemistry. While not required, teaching in Environmental Chemistry and Forensic Chemistry is desirable. The position also includes mentoring undergraduate research students and conducting independent research leading to peer-reviewed publications. The successful candidate must be capable of teaching in both face-to-face and online formats.
Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry, or related discipline.
- Experience with 'active learning' in face-to-face modality (preferably at smaller institutions).
- Analytical and organizational skills necessary to plan, implement and evaluate educational activities to assure compliance with established goals and objectives.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents.

- Teaching classes in areas of Environmental Chemistry and Forensic Chemistry.
Responsibilities
