About The Position
The Assistant Professor of Chemistry will teach and support students in Organic Chemistry and contribute scholarship in a specialty area such as Natural Products, Polymers, Physical Organic Chemistry, or Medicinal Chemistry. The role requires higher education teaching or laboratory supervision experience, strong subject matter expertise, evidence of scholarship, and experience supporting students. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the department’s Green Chemistry Commitment.
Requirements
- PhD with a specialty in an area of Organic Chemistry, including Natural Products, Polymers, Physical Organic Chemistry, or Medicinal Chemistry.
- Some higher education teaching experience or laboratory supervision experience.
- Deep subject matter expertise.
- Evidence of scholarship.
- Experience supporting students.

- Experience or training with inclusive pedagogy.
- Experience teaching as the primary instructor at the college level.
- Experience mentoring undergraduate research.
