About The Position

The College of Business and Engineering at Wilkes University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Accounting for the Department of Finance, Accounting and Management within the Jay S. Sidhu School of Business & Leadership. The Sidhu School holds accreditation from AACSB and ACBSP. This role involves teaching both undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, with graduate courses offered in accelerated, online, and face-to-face formats. Faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activity, including publications in quality peer-reviewed journals, and provide service to the school, university, and community. Additionally, the faculty member will mentor undergraduate students interested in accounting and supervise or conduct related field research. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of learning and motivation, skills in learner assessment, advising, and mentoring, and the ability to manage individual differences among students. The position begins in August 2026.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in Accounting with appropriate current research in the field.
  • ABD status will be considered if PhD will be completed prior to employment.
  • Strong understanding of learning and motivation.
  • Skills in the assessment, advising, and mentoring of learners.
  • Ability to deal effectively with individual differences in ability, personality, and interests.

Responsibilities

  • Teach both undergraduate and graduate accounting courses.
  • Teach graduate courses in accelerated, online format as well as face to face.
  • Engage in scholarly activity, with publications in quality peer-reviewed journals.
  • Offer service to the school, university, and community.
  • Mentor traditional undergraduate students interested in accounting.
