About The Position

In a faculty position in accounting, the primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate accounting courses, developing and updating course materials, advising and mentoring students, and assessing student learning. The faculty member will also conduct research in the field of accounting, publish scholarly work, participate in departmental and university service such as committees and curriculum development, and stay current with changes in accounting standards and educational practices. Additionally, they may collaborate with industry and professional organizations to ensure coursework remains relevant and support student career development.

Requirements

  • Doctorate (PHD DBA) in accounting or a closely related field from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in university-level teaching
  • Documented record of scholarly research or clear potential for research productivity in accounting or a related area
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to mentor students
  • Commitment to foster diversity and inclusion
  • Males age 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s (for certain positions)
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA
  • Experience with accounting software and technology
