Carlow University is currently accepting applications for two full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Master of Social Work (MSW) Program. Both are a nine-month academic appointment on the Oakland campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One position may begin in January 2027, and one will begin in August 2027. The primary responsibilities of both positions include teaching graduate social work courses, advising and mentoring students, contributing to course, curriculum, and program development, assessing student learning outcomes, and engaging in scholarship and service consistent with a tenure-track faculty appointment. The ideal candidate will be a scholar-practitioner whose work, teaching, and scholarship are grounded in trauma-informed practice and who is committed to cultural humility, social justice, and the future of liberal arts and professional education in a rapidly changing environment. Preferred candidates will demonstrate the ability to engage students in issues of race, equity, inclusion, and justice and will be able to articulate a clear connection between Carlow University’s Catholic, Mercy mission and their teaching, scholarship, and service. Preferred candidates will have practice experience in macro social work and/or direct practice.
