Texas A&M University–Central Texas invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Social Work who will also serve as Director of the Master of Social Work (MSW) Program. The role combines teaching, scholarship, service, and academic leadership for a growing program that begins in fall 2027. The MSW degree will be offered online, so the successful candidate must be capable of teaching graduate social work courses online and qualified to serve on the graduate faculty. The Director receives one course release per semester to support program leadership responsibilities. The Director provides program administration, assessment, accreditation compliance, strategic planning, faculty collaboration, and community engagement. The successful candidate will support excellence in teaching and student success, contribute to professional service, and help prepare ethical, competent social work practitioners. Texas A&M University–Central Texas is a regional teaching institution and part of the Texas A&M System. It offers upper-level undergraduate coursework and graduate and specialist degrees. The university is seeking approval to offer its first two doctoral degrees and primarily serves transfer students from three major area community colleges. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer. The posting notes that current H-1B restrictions may affect the university’s ability to employ candidates who require employment visa sponsorship.
