Texas A&M University-Central Texas invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Social Work who will also serve as Director of the Master of Social Work (MSW) Program. The program is scheduled to begin in fall 2027 and will be offered online. The successful candidate must be able to teach graduate-level social work courses online and qualify for graduate faculty status. The Director receives one course release per semester. The position combines teaching, scholarship, service, and academic leadership. The successful candidate will support program administration, assessment, accreditation compliance, strategic planning, faculty collaboration, and community engagement, and will demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence, student success, professional service, and preparing ethical, competent social work practitioners. Texas A&M University-Central Texas is a regional teaching institution and part of the Texas A&M System. It offers upper-level undergraduate coursework and master's and specialist degrees, and is seeking approval to offer its first two doctoral degrees. The university primarily serves transfer students from three major community colleges in the region. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer. The university states that it will not pay the $100,000 fee for certain new H-1B petitions and that a state moratorium may restrict new H-1B petitions, potentially affecting employment for candidates who require visa sponsorship. The position is security-sensitive; applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation, and employment is contingent on verification of credentials and other required information.
