About The Position

The Plaster College of Business at Lindenwood University is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor of Management. This is a full-time, 9-month faculty position scheduled to begin in Fall 2026. The role requires a terminal degree in business or management with a specialization in areas such as operations, supply chain management, project management, or analytics. Candidates will be expected to teach four 3-credit hour courses each semester. Beyond teaching, faculty members are responsible for advising and mentoring students, engaging in research and scholarship to develop their expertise, and participating in faculty governance and campus life. The position also involves academic advising, program/course design, and student mentoring. Faculty and instructors at Lindenwood University are generally responsible for curriculum, teaching, service, scholarship, and administrative activities that align with the university's mission, vision, and values. Review of applications will commence in April 2026 and continue until the position is filled.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree in business or management with specialization in operations, supply chain management, project management, or analytics
  • Proficiency in business analytics, project management, operations management, or supply chain management
  • Terminal degree in management/business/systems engineering/business analytics/supply chain management
  • Substantial graduate coursework in one or more of the aforementioned disciplines, with progress toward a terminal degree (will also be considered)
  • Ability to verbalize understanding of complex problems or situations, ask relevant questions for clarifications and explain concepts clearly to others
  • Well-developed written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly, and effectively with students and co-workers verbally, in-person, and by telephone using the English language
  • Ability to present materials effectively to individual students or groups
  • Ability to manage interpersonal conflict situations requiring tact, diplomacy, and discretion
  • Ability to support a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion through effective interactions with students, employees, alumni, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to organize and express ideas, directions, and data in a logical sequence to describe a process or explain procedures, such as how to perform a task
  • Ability to deal with abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to use current technology to enhance effectiveness including but not limited to computers, computer-assisted instruction programs, and audio-visual equipment
  • Willing to learn and apply any other new technology necessary to enhance learning
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Canvas (LMS), CAMS (SIS), and Workday (EIS)
  • Ability to use phones, fax machines, printers, scanners and copiers
