About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for an Assistant Professor-in-Residence position in Criminal Justice. This role is designed to teach four courses per semester, with a focus on policing, police administration, and police wellness. The individual will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses. Additionally, the position involves playing a role in a proposed new executive/professional master’s degree in policing and collaborating with the existing Executive Masters in Crisis and Emergency Management program. Reassigned time will be provided to facilitate and coordinate the new graduate degree. The position requires the ability to teach both in-person and online courses.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or another related field from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
1-3 years of teaching experience.
First-hand experience working with public safety agencies.
Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
Ability to teach in person as well as online courses.

Nice To Haves

Experience teaching in emergency management programs.
Knowledge of wellness programs for emergency management and/or police officers.

Responsibilities
