Assistant Professor in Mathematics - Inverse Problems & Imaging
About The Position
The Department of Mathematics in the College of Science, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor. We seek candidates working in inverse problems, with emphasis on analytical foundations and applications to medical imaging and remote sensing. Successful candidates should have research interests complementing or intersecting with the department’s existing strengths in analysis, PDEs, integral geometry, and mathematical physics. In accordance with USCIS regulations, successful applicants must be legally able to accept work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Requirements
- PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or closely related area
- Legally able to accept work in the United States

- Clear vision for developing an independent, externally funded research program in Inverse Problems and Imaging
- Research interests complementing or intersecting with the department’s existing strengths in analysis, PDEs, integral geometry, and mathematical physics
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain an active, independent research program leading to high-quality scholarly publications and external funding
- Teach undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses
- Advise and mentor students, including supervision of research projects, theses, and dissertations
- Contribute appropriate service to the Department, College, University, and broader mathematical community
