About The Position

The Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Delaware is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Geochemistry, starting Fall 2026. The ideal candidate will establish a funded research program, teach effectively at undergraduate and graduate levels, mentor students, and contribute to a collaborative environment. Special consideration will be given to candidates with expertise in stable isotope geochemistry, particularly in areas like environmental geochemistry, critical minerals, and carbon sequestration. The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences or a related field, extensive experience with mass spectrometers, and the ability to manage and advance the existing stable isotope facility.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Earth Sciences or a closely related field.
• Extensive experience operating mass spectrometers.
• Ability to oversee and further develop our existing stable isotope facility.
• Ability to build on existing strengths in the Department of Earth Sciences that include geobiology, environmental geochemistry, hydrology, geomorphology, solid Earth geochemistry, and geophysics.
