About The Position

The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Center for Adult Critical Care, and the Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) are currently seeking full-time faculty members with training and experience in Critical Care and academic Emergency Medicine. Successful applicants must have completed a critical care fellowship. Clinical responsibilities include direct patient care and supervision in the adult Intensive Care Units, and the Emergency Departments at the University of New Mexico Hospital and Sandoval Regional Medical Center, our affiliated community hospital. Academic opportunities include participation in the teaching, administrative, and research activities with the Center for Adult Critical Care and the Department of Emergency Medicine, as qualified.

Requirements

  • MD/DO or equivalent
  • Completed a surgical, neuroscience, medical, or anesthesia critical care fellowship
  • Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care
  • 3 to 5 years of directly related experience, which may include time spent in residency and fellowship
  • State of New Mexico Medical license or equivalent at time of hire
  • Federal DEA Certification at time of hire

Responsibilities

  • Direct patient care and supervision in the adult Intensive Care Units
  • Direct patient care and supervision in the Emergency Departments at the University of New Mexico Hospital and Sandoval Regional Medical Center
  • Participation in the teaching activities with the Center for Adult Critical Care and the Department of Emergency Medicine
  • Participation in the administrative activities with the Center for Adult Critical Care and the Department of Emergency Medicine
  • Participation in the research activities with the Center for Adult Critical Care and the Department of Emergency Medicine
