About The Position

The Bachelor of Business Administration (HBBA) Program invites applications for faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach graduate-level Finance courses in both online and in-person dual modalities, contribute to course development and continuous program improvement, supervise applied projects and capstone experiences, mentor graduate students, engage in service to the program and institution, and engage with industry, community, and professional stakeholders. The candidate will also maintain an active scholarly, professional, or applied practice profile relevant to finance.

Requirements

  • A Doctorate/Ph.D. in Finance, Financial Economics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • A Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related discipline from accredited institutions are also required.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in the financial industry is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in developing and teaching Finance or Financial Management courses in a multi-modal post-secondary education environment, with a strong preference for experience at the graduate level.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in areas such as corporate finance, financial modeling, investment analysis, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to integrate practical applications and case-based learning into teaching to enhance student engagement and applied learning.

Nice To Haves

  • CFA, CPA, or another recognized professional finance designation is preferred.
  • Relevant industry experience in financial services, banking, investment, or financial technology (FinTech) sectors, with familiarity in emerging areas such as financial analytics, algorithmic trading, or AI in finance is considered an asset.
  • Previous teaching experience at the graduate level, particularly in MBA or Master of Finance programs, is highly desirable.
  • Previous teaching experience at the graduate level is a significant asset.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate-level Finance courses in both online and in person dual modalities (e.g., Corporate Finance, Managerial Finance, Financial Management, Investments, Financial Markets and Institutions, Risk Management, Financial Analysis, Business Analytics for Finance), delivering dual modality flipped and traditional lecture styles and applied learning activities aligned with course outcomes and graduate-level expectations.
  • Contribute to course development and continuous program improvement by refining course content, learning outcomes, assessments, and instructional resources to reflect evolving financial markets, business practices, technology applications, and academic quality standards.
  • Supervise applied projects, capstone experiences, and experiential learning opportunities by guiding students through planning, execution, and final deliverables, providing coaching, feedback, and evaluation to ensure academic rigor and practical relevance to real business and financial contexts.
  • Mentor graduate students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds by supporting academic growth, professional development, and applied learning success, while fostering an inclusive environment where students feel supported, challenged, and set up to perform at a high level.
  • Engage in service to the program and institution through participation in meetings, committees, and academic initiatives, supporting program operations, faculty collaboration, student success priorities, and alignment with institutional policies and expectations.
  • Engage with industry, community, and professional stakeholders to develop collaborations and partnerships that strengthen program credibility and expand applied learning opportunities, including projects, case-based learning, guest involvement, and real-world sector alignment.
  • Maintain an active scholarly, professional, or applied practice profile relevant to finance by staying current on financial markets, corporate finance, risk management, financial technologies, analytics, and business innovation, and integrating relevant insights into teaching and supervision.
