About The Position
The Department of Economics in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University invites applicants for a faculty position in Economic Theory at the rank of Assistant Professor starting Fall 2027. The candidate must conduct research at the highest levels that can be published at the top journals in Economics; teach economics courses at the undergraduate and graduate level; serve as a research mentor to doctoral students; and interact effectively with colleagues through department service to support and enhance the intellectual atmosphere of the department.
Requirements
- A PhD in Economics or related field by appointment start date or no later than the end of the fall semester. Those who do not have a PhD by the appointment start date will be hired as an Instructor ABD.
- A promising and ambitious research agenda in Economic Theory
Nice To Haves
- A strong research agenda in Economic Theory, with ideally published or forthcoming papers in premier academic journals
- Teaching experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of AI tools through innovative teaching practices, cutting-edge research, and/or through leadership in academic or professional communities.
