About The Position

The Department of Economics and Marketing in the Romain College of Business at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics position to begin in August 2027. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the undergraduate Economics program and a newly designed online undergraduate Business Economics program. Teaching responsibilities will include intermediate macroeconomics in an asynchronous online format and other topics based on department needs. Courses in the new Business Economics Program will be delivered in an asynchronous online format, and courses in the Economics program may be face-to-face, hybrid, or asynchronous online format. Economics faculty are expected to pursue innovative teaching practices, maintain an active research program, provide academic advising to students, and provide service at the program, university, and community levels.

Requirements

• A Ph.D. in economics from an accredited university is required.
• Applicants with ABD status will be considered for the rank of Instructor until degree is completed.

Responsibilities

• Teach in the undergraduate Economics program and a newly designed online undergraduate Business Economics program.
