About The Position

Franklin Pierce University, invites applications and nominations for the position of Open Rank Faculty Member for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in Manchester, New Hampshire. Franklin Pierce University seeks a collaborative faculty member that specializes in Applied Anatomy, Medically Complex Patient, Capstone supervision. Commitment to the profession of Physical Therapy, contemporary education, and the inclusive excellence of our students are fundamental to success in this position. Reporting to the DPT-NH Program Director, the DPT Faculty member will play a key role in shaping the next generation of physical therapists. This full-time, 12-month, in person faculty position involves curriculum development, delivery, assessment, student advisement, service to the program via active committee membership, leadership in service to the university and profession, community outreach, and steady fulfillment of a scholarly agenda that will inform one’s teaching and research interests. Faculty are expected to teach short modules or lab experiences in courses outside of their assigned courseload where integration of their expertise is necessary for the taxonomy of building curriculum/topic information strategically. The new faculty member will be joining a well-established in-person program that is committed to providing evidence-based educational practice.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.). ABD will be considered.
  • Certification and/or experience in kinesiology, pain science and imaging and diagnosis.
  • Physical Therapy licensure in New Hampshire or eligibility (license obtained within 90 days of employment).
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated effective and innovative teaching in academia (full-time or adjunct).
  • Expertise in physical therapy management of patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Experience in patient care management across the continuum of care.
  • Willingness to travel for university-related purposes, if required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver curriculum for assigned courses with expansion to other specified classes/labs in aligned content and expertise.
  • Program assessment tasks per assigned faculty committee membership.
  • Student Advising
  • Provide leadership in university and professional service.
  • Engage in community outreach efforts informing teaching and research interests.
  • Steady contribution to scholarly activities.
  • Participation in program administrative activities such as student application review, engagement in open house events.
