The Department of Criminal Justice, within the Division of Politics, Administration, and Justice, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position, specializing in courts and judicial processes. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Pedagogical responsibilities will include teaching a core course on criminal courts, a breadth requirement for criminal justice students. The department desires a candidate who will create new court-related courses in specialized areas, such as appellate advocacy, procedural justice, judicial decision-making, jurors and juries, or international courts. The department is open to other courses relevant to a candidate’s specialization. In addition, the department desires a candidate who has an interest in participating in existing, or developing new, high-impact practices for students, such as Moot Court, Mock Trial, and/or service-learning courses. CSUF faculty are committed teacher/scholars who bring research and creative discovery to life for students in classrooms, labs, studios, and individually mentored projects.
