About The Position

The Department of Criminal Justice within the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin July 1, 2027. The position is open with respect to sub-field, with a preference for candidates whose teaching and research expertise are centered broadly in the area of corrections. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active program of research and contribute to the department’s undergraduate and graduate programs. The standard teaching load is 2-2, with substantial involvement in graduate education, including graduate-level teaching, student mentoring and advising, and service as chair or member of graduate committees.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related field in hand by July 1, 2027. ABDs will be considered.
  • Candidates possessing only a JD will not be considered.
  • Demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching, research, and service.
