About The Position

The Assistant Professor Clinical Practice, Pathology Faculty will perform clinical services in molecular pathology diagnostic laboratories. Responsibilities include performing, interpreting, and reporting on various molecular pathology tests such as CMA, NGS, FISH, Sanger sequencing, and real-time PCR for oncology and inherited diseases. The role also involves teaching pathology residents, fellows, medical students, and lab technologist trainees. Additionally, the faculty member will attend and participate in departmental conferences, engage in scholarly activities including research, publications, and presentations, and serve on departmental and institutional committees.

Requirements

PhD, MD, or MD/PhD
Board certification or board eligibility through the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) in Molecular Genetics and Genomics (MGG), Cytogenetics and Genomics (CGG), or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG), or through Molecular Genetic Pathology (MGP).

Responsibilities

Performing clinical services including molecular pathology diagnostic laboratory tests.
Performing, interpreting, and issuing reports of molecular pathology diagnostic laboratory tests (CMA, NGS, FISH, Sanger sequencing, real-time PCR for oncology and inherited diseases).
Teaching pathology residents, fellows, medical students, and lab technologist trainees.
Attending and participating in intra and inter-departmental conferences.
Pursuing scholarly activities including research, publications, and presentations at national and international meetings.
Participating in departmental and institutional committees.
Performing other duties as assigned.
