About The Position

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, ranked No. 1 nationwide for cancer care, seeks a full-time Head and Neck Pathologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to join a world-renowned team in the Department of Anatomical Pathology. This position provides an excellent opportunity to specialize in Head and Neck Pathology and collaborate with other head and neck specialized medical professionals, including surgeons, oncologists, radiation therapists, and endocrinologists, to provide enhanced patient care and clinical trials. These relationships improve patient outcomes and offer excellent opportunities for breakthrough research, advancing guidelines and the practice of pathology. The successful candidate will have an interest and participate in education, clinical/translational research, and clinical trial collaborative research.

Requirements

  • Minimum one-year fellowship training in Head and Neck pathology.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology.
  • Active Texas medical license or eligibility.
  • MD; MD, PhD; or DO degree in a field appropriate to department mission.
  • Licensed to practice in Texas.
  • Must be Board certified or obtained within departmental timeline.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the routine sign-out activities of a high volume of oncology specimens.
  • Participate in general and frozen sections.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary clinical conferences.
  • Equitable call coverage.
