About The Position

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Department of Lymphoma/Myeloma, is recruiting for a clinical research faculty member with a sub-specialty of Multiple Myeloma. Physicians with extensive research experience in clinical investigation and outcomes research, particularly in plasma cell dyscrasias such as Amyloidosis, Waldrenstroms, MGUS, and specifically stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies in high-risk Multiple Myeloma, are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have actively engaged in research in cancer biology relevant to hematologic malignancies and will have scholarly activity to enhance the department's academic environment. This role includes protected time to lead and develop programs, translational clinical research, and scholarly activities aligned with departmental goals. The selected candidate will be responsible for seeking appropriate funding for research, mentoring junior faculty, fellows, and trainees, and contributing to the department's overall mission. Opportunities for collaboration with other clinicians, scientists, and physician-scientists within the institution are abundant.

Requirements

M.D. or M.D. and Ph.D. degrees.
For M.D. degree holders: demonstrated ability to practice medicine, particularly Oncology.
Eligible for American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) certification in their primary specialty.
Board eligible for sub-specialty certification.
License eligible in the State of Texas.
At least 5 years of experience post-degree with any combination of time as a clinician, clinical scientist, or GME trainee (excluding specialties with shorter residencies or fellowships).
Evidence of commitment to scholarly activity.
Proof of scientific accomplishments.
Excellent writing and communication skills, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications.
Presentation skills for professional meetings.
Demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding for translational research.
Physicians with extensive research experience in clinical investigation and outcomes research with particular focus in plasma cell dyscrasias such as Amyloidosis, Waldrenstroms, MGUS.
Experience in stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies in high-risk Multiple Myeloma.
